Back in July, we shared the news that 1091 Pictures has acquired the North American distribution rights to the supernatural horror film Lair and were planning to give the film a digital release on November 9th. Lair is still on track for that November 9th release, and today we’ve gotten a hold of the trailer. Check it out in the embed above!

Written and directed by Adam Ethan Crow, Lair stars Corey Johnson (Morbius), Oded Fehr (Star Trek: Discovery), Alexandra Gilbreath (Becoming Elizabeth), Sean Buchanan (Mary Queen of Scotts), Alana Wallace (Black Ops), Aislinn De’ath (Cornered), Paul Warren (ABCs of Death 2.5), Kashif O’Connor, and newcomers Lara Mount and Anya Newall. This is noted as being Crow’s feature debut, but his IMDb page also lists a movie called The Conversation that was screened in 2018 and had O’Connor in the cast.

Here’s the synopsis for Lair:

Dr. Steven Caramore (Johnson) specializes in debunking the supernatural. When a friend (Fehr) is accused of murder, claiming he was possessed by an unseen menace, Caramore begins to question his own beliefs. He investigates his friend’s claims, setting off a chain of events that forces Caramore and a young family into a battle for survival.

Crow gave Deadline the following statement about the North American distribution deal:

The pedigree of 1091’s films, combined with its industry-leading management, make it the perfect home for Lair, which is being described as an elevated horror. All I know is Lair‘s not your normal scary movie, and I hope it will ignite healthy, spirited conversation while delighting genre fans.”

Lair was produced by Shelley Atkin. Studiocanal has the Australia and New Zealand distribution rights, while Nos will be releasing the film in Portugal.
