Last Night in Soho clip: Anya Taylor-Joy wants to talk to the owner

Last week, we shared a clip from director Edgar Wright’s psychological thriller Last Night in Soho that showed an ambitious character played Anya Taylor-Joy talking to a sleazy fellow played by Matt Smith. Now we’ve gotten our hands on another clip from the film that shows Taylor-Joy trying to find a way to talk to the owner of a club, and being sent over to talk to Smith’s character instead. So the clip embedded above leads right into the clip we saw last week, which you can also find embedded below.

The marketing department may be trying to show us the whole movie piece by piece, but thankfully Last Night in Soho is going to be released before that can happen. It’s set to reach theatres tomorrow, October 29th.

Inspired by the likes of Don’t Look Now and Repulsion, Last Night in Soho stars Thomas McKenzie and Anya Taylor-Joy as characters named Eloise and Sandie. The film centers on

a young girl, passionate in fashion design, who is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But 1960s London is not what it appears, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences…

Much of the story takes place in

the London of the Swinging Sixties; a time period with which Eloise is obsessed and, through a mysterious connection with Sandie, gets to experience.

McKenzie, Taylor-Joy, and Smith are joined in the cast by Michael Ajao, Synnøve Karlsen, Diana Rigg, Terence Stamp, Rita Tushingham, and Margaret Nolan. Sadly, both Rigg and Nolan passed away in 2020, so Last Night in Soho marks the last film appearances for both of them.

Wright wrote the screenplay with Krysty Wilson-Cairns and produced the film with Nira Park and Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.

Our own Chris Bumbray already had the chance to watch Last Night in Soho and gave it a 9/10 review you can read at THIS LINK.
