The good folks at Pathe, the film distributor out of the UK, has sent us along a brand spankin’ new pic from their upcoming June release of BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE, based on the animated film from 2000. So what’s the verdict so far? Meh… this thing looks OK, I guess.

The new pic is simple and to the point, but doesn’t blow my skirt up in any direfction–let’s face it, this sucker is just sort of ‘there.’ Which is cool, I suppose, but not enough to blow your load over.

In brief, BLOOD goes a little something like this: BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE tells the story of a mysterious girl known as Saya (Gianna Jun), who is employed by a covert US government agency to eradicate a species of vampire-demons that is about to threaten mankind. Half-demon herself, and armed with just a samurai sword and a whole bunch of attitude, Saya kicks vampire ass like nobody you have ever seen before.

For a synopsis as awesome sounding as that, I would have expected way more from a pic, wouldn’t you? Oh well… there’s still some time yet to get me excited. BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE hits theaters in the UK on June 12th, with no North American release date in sight.
