Well here’s a piece of news that just jumped up and b*tch-slapped me across the room… it seems Pascal Laugier is off the HELLRAISER remake!
You read that right folks… HELLRAISER has lost yet another filmmaker. Before Laugier the film had INSIDE directors Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury attached to both write and direct. The duo fell out of the director’s spot but still had the writing credit… until it was recently announced that Dimension FIlms were looking for a new writer to adapt a new script… well they’re looking for a new director as well according to Mr. Clive Barker!
According to his Twitter page that is. Here’s his ‘tweet:’ Pascal Laugier is regrettably no longer on the Hellraiser remake. Ithink Martyrs is extraordinary. Bum-Mer. If anyone was going to bring some excitement to this remake it was Bustillo and Maury. If anyone was going to replace those guys and bring the same amount of excitement… it would’ve been MARTYRS’ director Pascal Laugier. Now what? With our luck Uwe Boll will pick this one up. I’m kidding!
Seriously though… where does this leave HELLRAISER? I’m beginning to think this film will never see the light of day. But is that really a bad thing? As always you can keep it here until we here more on this dreaded remake.
