Legendary Pictures’ Spectral gets a new director

Legendary Pictures’ high-concept horror thriller SPECTRAL – described as “a supernatural Black Hawk Down” – recently lost its original directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg due to the old “creative differences” song and dance. But the studio was quick to fill their shoes, as it is currently negotiating with commercials helmer Nic Matthieu.

Written by Ian Fried, SPECTRAL focuses on…

… a special ops group formed to bring down evil ghosts that have taken over Manhattan.

In other words, GHOSTBUSTERS for a new generation.

Mathhieu has directed slick commercials for Cadillac and Zenith, and is attached to direct ROBOTECH for Warner Bros. SPECTRAL will be his first feature film.
