Our last update on CRUSH came earlier this month, when a trio of young actors joined the psychological thriller. Now a couple more names have dropped in on the production, which comes from the producers of THE STRANGERS and the writer of (ugh) THE ROOMMATE.

Leigh Whannell, perhaps best known as the writer – and co-star – of SAW and James Wan’s frequent partner in crime, has come aboard CRUSH, as has Caitriona Balfe, a supermodel who is making the move into acting.

CRUSH centers on a star high school athlete (Lucas Till) who becomes the focus of an admirer’s obsession. He soon discovers the innocent crush has turned dangerous and deadly.

Gee, is it any wonder this comes from the writer of THE ROOMMATE? Principal photography starts this week in L.A. Intrepid Pictures is financing the film, which will be a presence at the American Film Market next week.
