The first official bit of casting news regarding INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 has come in, with Deadline reporting that "A.N.T. Farm" and JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS star Stefanie Scott will co-star in the next installment of the popular supernatural series.
No other details are being revealed at this time, however. Plot details are under wraps, of course.
The threequel will be written and directed by Leigh Whannell (SAW) in his helming debut. Scott is currently in production on Blumhouse’s live-action adaptation of ’80s cartoon JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS, making her the latest thesp to be cast in multiple Blumhouse pictures after IN A VALLEY OF VIOLENCE stars Ethan Hawke, Karen Gillan, and James Ransone.
Jason Blum is producing the third installment again for Blumhouse alongside Oren Peli and James Wan. Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Peter Schlessel, Lia Buman, and Xavier Marchand are executive producers.
Focus Features took U.S. rights to INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 3 from FilmDistrict when Peter Schlessel took the reins last October. The company has set an April 3, 2015 release.
