I am sad to report the loss of Leonard Nimoy who died at age 83, due to end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease due to smoking (of which he had given up much earlier in his life).

I don't even have to tell you, but Leonard Nimoy helped to build the world of Star Trek back in 1966 when his character of Spock became an integral role in one of the greatest on-screen duos ever committed to the screen. Futhermore, his work behind the scenes resulted in one of the best films of the franchise (THE VOYAGE HOME). The man's reach extended that of Trek, having been on more shows than you can shake a stick at. He also partook in photography, poetry and music (We all know the Bilbo Baggins tune). Above all else, he had embraced his fans and the life he carved out for himself. His presence was undeniably warm, even when in character of the logical, green-blooded Vulcan.

R.I.P. Leonard Nimoy. Our thoughts and hearts are with your family and friends.
