Leonardo DiCaprio to investigate the JFK assassination

JoBloJoBlo

As he prepares to star in the J. Edgar Hoover biopic for Clint Eastwood, Leonard DiCaprio has signed on to star in another real life story of a government official. DiCaprio will star in and produce LEGACY OF SECRECY a film about the JFK assassination. Leo will play FBI informant Jack Van Laningham who went undercover with the mob to investigate the claims of Carlos Marcello that he ordered the assassination.

The film will be based on the book by Lamar Waldron and Thom Hartmann, which was brought to DiCaprio’s attention by his dad (aww) who will co-produce the film (double-aww).

The 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination is 2013 and Warner Bros. is prepping the film for that year to capitalize on renewed interest in the case.

So far no writer or director is attached to help develop the project but considering DiCaprio’s interest in directors, you can imagine it will be someone of A-list credentials. (Leo’s last six directors: Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan, Sam Mendes and Ed Zwick.)
