Like it or not, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip released a trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Granted I don't exactly keep close tabs on the ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS franchise, but I was slightly amazed to learn that the series has brought in over a billion dollars worldwide. For films which feature a quartet of cartoon chipmunks squeaking away for an hour and a half, that's a little surprising. What's not so surprising is that a fourth installment is on the way, but with that kind of cash up for grabs, why the hell not?

A trailer for the fourth film, ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE ROAD CHIP, has been released for your viewing…pleasure…and you can check that out right here.

ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE ROAD CHIP will see Alvin (Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Theodore (Jesse McCartney) racing to New York City to stop Dave (Jason Lee) from proposing to his new girlfriend after a series of misunderstandings led them to believe that Dave will ditch them should the proposal go forward.

Those of you who have children who are fans of the singing rodents should make sure to stock up on earplugs before ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS: THE ROAD CHIP is released on December 23, 2015.
