Leatherface Lili Taylor

THE CONJURING's Lili Taylor, who recently brought more prestige to the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE prequel LEATHERFACE than the film deserved, is set to work in the horror genre again with SINISTER II director Ciaran Foy's psychological thriller ELI.

ELI stars Charlie Shotwell as the title character,

an 11-year-old who moves into a "clean house" to treat his autoimmune disorder. Unable to leave, Eli soon realizes that the house, and the doctor who runs it, are more sinister than they appear.

Taylor will be playing Dr. Isabella Horn, the immunologist who treats Eli. It's not clear if she's the sinister doctor mentioned in the plot description, but it would be great see Taylor playing the villain of the film.

Also in the cast is Stranger Things' Sadie Sink as a local girl who befriends Eli and Kelly Reilly as his devoted mother.

Written by David Chirchirillo, the screenplay for ELI was featured on the 2015 Black List. The script received a polish by THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE's Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing.

This is the first film for Paramount Players, a new division of Paramount that is mostly focused on producing films based on properties already owned by Paramount's parent company Viacom. Other projects in the works at Paramount Players include a remake of 48 HRS. and a gender swapped version of WHAT WOMEN WANT.

Trevor Macy of Intrepid and John Zaozirny of Bellevue Productions are producing ELI, with Matt Alvarez serving as executive producer.

ELI is set to reach theatres on January 4, 2019.
