Miramax probably misses the DAZED AND CONFUSED Richard Linklater as much as I do, which is surely why the studio tapped him to handle their upcoming LIARS (A-E).
From a screenplay by Emma Forrest, who unless I’m mistaken is the same that recently dumped Colin Farrell, the film will have a duo of young women, half of which belongs to NICK AND NORAH’s Kat Dennings whose pouty mug adorns this article, taking profit of their road trip towards President Obama’s inauguration by collecting items lost to previous relationships on the way. Because that day was precisely about finally getting rid of useless jerks.
I might be a lonely voice on this, but that film sounds much closer to the Linklater I like then his other future “project”, SCHOOL OF ROCK 2. Unless that one has Jack Black hired as a substitute teacher and deciding to form a rock band with the kids. Now THAT would be funny…
