2019 Lionsgate/Summit Preview

Last Updated on August 3, 2021

In 2018, Lionsgate/Summit made $500 million less than they did the previous year, resulting in a 3.4% market share, which made them the lowest grossing of the major studios. The drop likely came due to the fact that Lionsgate did not have a single film cross the $100 million mark. Their top film was A SIMPLE FAVOR which brought in just $53 million domestically. Things look brighter in 2019 with Lionsgate poised to release Guillermo Del Toro's SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK, the new HELLBOY, and JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3.
