Forget about counting your blessings. It’s time to raise your horns and prepare your soul for an unholy family reunion. FX has summoned a trailer for Little Demon, a sacrilegious animated series from the co-creator of Rick and Morty. FX’s Little Demon trailer tells the story of a mother named Laura (voiced by Aubrey Plaza) whose antichrist daughter Chrissy (Lucy DeVito) is quite literally the daughter of Satan (Danny DeVito).
Created by Darcy Fowler, Seth Kirschner, and Kieran Valla, Little Demon is not for the faint of heart. The series features a generous helping of foul language, full-frontal nudity, and religious iconography that could send Sunday schoolers running for the nearest confessional booth.
“We are going to keep going for it, until we are told no,” Kirschner said during FX’s Television Critics Tour panel. “We cut a bunch of stuff out, oddly enough.”
“It’s not something to be pixillated,” adds Fowler. “What’s exciting about it, what it says about the character of Laura is that she’s a total badass. She’s Sarah Connor meets Emma Peel meets John Wick. She’s non-pixillated. You see a woman do what she does as she goes into metaphysical realm.”
The Little Demon trailer features many monsters and demons from the depths of Hell invading Delaware as Laura and Chrissy attempt to live their everyday lives. “I have a quest as the devil,” explains Danny Devito. “I met a beautiful woman and I have a gorgeous antichrist daughter who I love and want to be with. I get to play all the devilish things I’ve had in my career and this also gives me a family I care about.”
Plaza and the DeVitos aren’t the only celebrities embracing the Devil for Little Demon. The animated series also features voiceovers from Hollywood royalty like Mel Brooks, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Will Jackson Harper, Pamela Adlon, Rhea Perlman, Shangela, Patrick Wilson, Dave Bautista, June Diane Raphael, Toks Olagundoye, Lamorne Morris, and Sam Richardson.
Little Demon premieres on FX on August 25, 2022.
