Do you guys remember a project filmmaker Doug Liman was trying to get off the ground called LUNA? That shite was set up over at DreamWorks and had Jake Gyllenhaal attached to star a few years back. Apparently that all fell apart though.
Now the film is called MOON and has found a new home over at Paramount. Unfortuantely Gyllenhaal is no longer attached but Liman’s got an equally impressive list of names all lined up for interviews! Actually he’s already had several interviews with high profile names including Andrew Garfield, Emile Hirsch, Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson, Megan Fox, Rachel McAdams, Eva Mendes, Zoe Saldana (right) and Olivia Wilde (below). That’s a pretty stacked list, no?
The story centers on a renegade group of former space employees, led by an Eastern European woman, who travel the world, stealing space equipment in an attempt to go back to the moon to acquire an energy source. The last item to steal — or in this case, kidnap — is an ex-NASA employee.
Liman would like to start shooting MOON in late Summer but apparently the green light on this one all depends on who is cast. While the names mentioned have already been interviewed Liman is planning on tackling even more meetings next week, with hopes to cast his two or three leads.
What do you guys think? MOON sounding pretty solid? How about if some of the names above get cast? Hit us with your thoughts on this whole she-bang below and keep it here for more on the sci-fi romp as we hear it!
