Loki Season 2: The Green Knight and The Northman actor Kate Dickie joins Marvel’s time-warping Disney+ series

After surprising fans with an official trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 at CCXP 2022, Marvel Studios is ready to announce that Kate Dickie (PrometheusThe Green Knight) will join the cast of Loki Season 2. With an extensive list of film and television credits, Dickie is known for playing the deranged Lysa Arryn in HBO‘s Game of Thrones. Details about her character remain a mystery, though sources indicate she’ll play a villain in the anticipated return of the Disney+ series.

Dickie joins Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Owen Wilson (Mobius), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Ravonna Renslayer), Sophia Di Martino (Sylvie), Eugene Cordero (Casey), Tara Strong (Miss Minutes), Rafael Casal, and Ke Huy Quan for the sophomore season. Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead will direct Loki Season 2. Hiddleston and Michael Waldron, who wrote and served as showrunner of season 1, will exec produce with Eric Martin writing all six episodes of the new season.

Major plot spoilers for the first season of Loki await you in the next paragraph!

While the plot for Loki Season 2 is unknown, I think it’s safe to assume the story will continue Loki’s battle against the TVA (Time Variance Authority) and explore the repercussions of killing Kang (Jonathan Majors) in the show’s Season 1 finale. Before his death at the hands of Sylvie, Kang warned Loki and Sylvie that killing him would destroy the multiversal timeline and summon another less-desired version of himself from another part of the Multiverse. The first season ends with Loki sharing the unfortunate news with Mobius, who doesn’t remember the God of Lies or pay his warning any mind in the new reality. It’s a mess, and Loki is left to pick up the pieces.

Production for Loki Season 2 is already complete, though Dickie’s role remains a mystery. Who do you think she’s playing? Amora the Enchantress? Lady Loki? While Sylvie more or less filled that role in the first season, another version of the character may be making a mess of the timeline. We’ll have to wait for more details to find out. In the comments section, let us know who you think Kate Dickie could play in Loki Season 2.
