Louis C.K. has grown in popularity in recent years due in equal parts to his phenomenal FX series LOUIE as well as his brilliant stand-up work. C.K. has worked hard as writer, editor, and director on his FX series, but LOUIE does not mark his first foray into film-making. Back in 1998, before he was a well known actor and co-star in films like BLUE JASMINE and AMERICAN HUSTLE, Louis C.K. filmed a low budget comedy called TOMORROW NIGHT. After being shown at Sundance that year, TOMORROW NIGHT faded into obscurity. Until now.

In an appearance on The Tonight Show, Louis C.K. revealed that he would be making TOMORROW NIGHT available on his official website next month for five dollars. C.K. has made several of his stand-up specials available for five bucks in the past but this will mark an interesting and unique look at his creative output. Aside from TOMORROW NIGHT, Louis C.K.‘s only other directorial effort for the big screen was the awful 2001 comedy POOTIE TANG which he co-wrote.

TOMORROW NIGHT looks like an odd film about a man banging a bowl of ice cream. It is notable for featuring early performances from Steve Carell, Amy Poehler, Wanda Sykes, and J.B. Smoove. The camera work looks similar to LOUIE and should make for a cool throwback.
