Well folks I come to you on this slow ass Thursday morning to bring you all word on a low budget zombie flick that seems to have been flying under our radar. And by that I mean this one looks like it’s been flying real low. So what’s this mysterious project I speak of? An intriguing little zombie romp called BLOOD LODGE. Ever hear of it? No? That’s alrght, nobody else has either.

In all seriousness though, this little diddy has just popped onto our radar so I’ve decided to take a little time to drop some details on BLOOD LODGE and see how you guys feel about it. Coming from writer/director/star Kevin Orosz, BLOOD LODGE is heading our way courtesy of New Jersey’s Graffiti Playhouse Productions. Scope out the rundown for this one according to Mr. Orosz:

“A zombie attack happens in the fictional town of Ten Acres while a group of friends travel for a ski weekend. The group unites with other guests staying at the Ten Acres Lodge and tries to stay alive by fighting the zombies. ‘Blood Lodge’ is like ‘Zombie Land’ meets ‘Dazed and Confused’ mixed with the 1970s grindhouse movies.”

So what do you guys think? Worth a once over? I haven’t even gotten to the slightly intriguing cast! Joining Orosz in the film will be “Sopranos” regular Vincent Pastore, Jasmin St. Claire, Michael Coppolecchia Sr., Richard Patrick, Tatev Hakobian, Ed McKeever, Ambrose Gray and Joel Ruda. Now that’s all the details we’ve got on this one but I’m going to go ahead and hit you all with a bit of a press release for a BLOOD LODGE event courtesy of Shore News Today:

Graffiti Playhouse Productions, a South Jersey-based film company, is hosting a benefit party 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8 for its new zombie horror movie. The event, “Zombies Invade the Pines” will be a Six Packs Pub, 4180 White Horse Pike in Mullica Township. General admission is $20; $15 for those dressed in zombie costumes. There will be a buffet, drink specials, prizes, and live rock, punk and jazz bands. Attendees will have a chance to meet the cast of the film, in addition to Joel Reed, director of the 1976 horror-exploitation film “Blood Sucking Freaks,” who is co-producing “Blood Lodge.” The best-dressed zombie will win a role in “Blood Lodge,” which will be filmed March 14-20 in Stowe, Vt.

So there you have it folks! If you’re in the area be sure to visit Six Packs Pub for a chance to meet the stars of the film and keep it here for more updates on BLOOD LODGE, which should be seeing some kind of limited release in 2011.
