Luc Besson releases the 1st official image of his sci-fi epic Valerian

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS, based on the Valerian and Laureline comics, will follows a spatio-temporal agent and his companion as they travel the universe through space and time. Luc Besson has been pretty active on social media, uploading behind-the-scenes pictures of his cast and crew. Now he's released the first official image of the film featuring Dane DeHaan's Valerian and Cara Delevingne's Laureline (with director Luc Besson in the background).

Is anyone else here distracted by the chesticle armor? Is that just me? The BTS pics Besson posted earlier certainly gave off a different vibe, but I'm excited to see this sucker on the big screen either way. I know I'm WAY in the minority by not caring for THE FIFTH ELEMENT, but I can't deny that the world created for it was pretty damn cool. Let's see what Besson has up his sleeve for VALERIAN.

VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS will open in theaters on July 21, 2017.
