Back at the beginning of the month we gave you the last update on Scott Stewart’s PRIEST, which involved the launch of the flick’s official website and our first look at Paul Bettany as the titular character.

Well Stewart and company are hard at work bringing this one together and a large piece of the puzzle just fell into place: Maggie Q. You know… the ‘little Asian chick that likes to kick people’ in LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD. Now the film is based off the TokyoPop comic of the same name and takes place in a world ravaged by war between man and vampires and follows a warrior priest (Bettany) who teams with a sheriff to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece.

Maggie Q will play a priestess — a vampire hunter as tough as the priests — who also joins Bettany while Cam Gigandet stars as the sheriff. It’s already got a release date of August 13, 2010. I can definitely see that trio battling some vamps. That’s all we’ve got so far but hopefully we’ll be getting word soon on some names attached to play the vampires. As always keep it here for updates!
