Majesco in the dark

Despite having a kickass costume and name (I even made a skin for the dude for Dark Forces 2), I never got into who or what THE DARKNESS is. I know, shame on me. But hey, I can’t know everything.

With news of the Pang Bros. inking the deal to bring the comic to the big screen, struggling game publisher Majesco was set to bring the comic to the small screen as well. The key word being ‘was’.

Majesco announced yesterday that they’d sold the game rights to The Darkness (as well as Ghost Rider) as part of a deal that brought the troubled publisher some much needed cash ($8 million, to be exact). This means that Starbreeze Entertainment (who made the kickass Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay game), the company developing the game, will probably end up following the license to whoever bought it, which hasn’t been revealed as of yet. Stay tuned.
