Malevolence 2: Bereavement Alexandra Daddario Stevan Mena

This is a big year for writer/director Stevan Mena's MALEVOLENCE franchise. We first heard that Mena had worked through the tragic mid-production death of the lead actor to complete MALEVOLENCE 3: KILLER in time for a Blu-ray/DVD/VOD release this October. Then we learned that the first installment in the series, 2003's MALEVOLENCE, will be coming to Blu-ray for the first time during the Halloween season.

With the first and third movies receiving releases this fall, it's only fair that the second movie get in on the action as well. Mena has announced that his 2010 film MALEVOLENCE 2: BEREAVEMENT (a prequel to the first) is getting re-released with additional footage and new cover art on Blu-ray/DVD/VOD in October.

Starring Alexandra Daddario, Peyton List, Michael Biehn, Brett Rickaby, John Savage, and Nolan Funk, BEREAVEMENT has the following synopsis:

In 1989, six year old Martin Bristoll was kidnapped from his backyard swing in Minersville Pennsylvania. Graham Sutter, a psychotic recluse, kept Martin imprisoned on his derelict pig farm, forcing him to witness and participate in unspeakable horrors. Chosen at random, his victim's screams were drowned out by the rural countryside. For five years, Martin's whereabouts have remained a mystery, until 17 year old Allison Miller (Alexandra Daddario/Baywatch, San Andreas, Percy Jackson) comes to live with her Uncle, Jonathan (Michael Biehn/The Terminator, Aliens) and his 9 year old daughter, Wendy (Peyton List/Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Jessie). While exploring her new surroundings, Allison discovers things aren't quite right at the farmhouse down the road. Her curiosity disturbs a hornet's nest of evil and despair that once torn open, can never be closed.

The trailer for this new director's cut can be seen below. Check it out, and if you're so inclined start setting aside some cash so you can purchase the whole MALEVOLENCE trilogy in a couple months.
