Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton investigate The Neighbor

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Though it would appear their shot at making HALLOWEEN RETURNS has vanished, writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (THE COLLECTOR, THE COLLECTION) have moved on to a new project titled THE NEIGHBOR. In fact, according to Bloody Disgusting, the duo already completed the film, right under all of our noses! (To be fair, the project was first announced back in 2013.)

Starring Josh Stewart, the star of their COLLECTOR films, THE NEIGHBOR’s plot breaks down like this:

In the town of Cutter, most people keep to themselves. But when John comes home to find his girlfriend missing, he sneaks into his neighbor’s house, finding his girlfriend and several other kidnapped people tied up in the basement. When the neighbor come home, John is forced to get out of the house alive and lead the group to safety.

Hmm. Josh Stewart trapped in a house with a psycho who kidnaps people? We sure this isn’t a third COLLECTOR film?

Alex Essoe (STARRY EYES), comedian Bill Engvall, Luke Edwards and Jaqueline Fleming round out THE NEIGHBOR cast, which Dunstan directed from a script he wrote with Melton. We’ll let you know when the film invites in a release date.
