Fantastic Four/X-Men

Many have wondered if Fox will be doing something with their comic book properties (Fantastic Four, X-Men) similar to what Marvel and Disney have done with their characters and films. There aren't any new details on THE FANTASTIC FOUR reboot being directed by Josh Trank but while talking about the upcoming film in an interview with SFX, Mark Millar says it will only be a matter of time before the two superhero teams meet in a future film:

Without question I think you have to see some of these guys showing up in each other’s movies. I think the most exciting thing in superhero movies, until The Avengers came along, was when Nick Fury showed up in Iron Man. Even though it was a guy with an eye patch it was really cool – and I expect we will see more of that.

His comments are a little different from the ones he made last month that seemed to squash some of those crossover rumors. He sounds a little bit more open now then he did before, and while it might be a long time before we actually get a Fantastic Four/X-Men team-up on the big screen, it does sound like it could be a possibility. It might be a little difficult though with an X-Force movie in the works as well, however if Millar and Fox can figure out a way to bring these two teams together in the same movie, I think they will.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is in theaters May 23rd, 2014, while THE FANTASTIC FOUR is scheduled to be released on March 6th, 2015.
