News is getting scarce as the holidays approach and the Hollywood machine slows down, but now it seems like we’ve entered reruns.
As we originally heard back in the summer, Universal and Mark Wahlberg want to turn the sci-fi/action short THE RAVEN into a feature film (the original deal crumbled but just now came back together). Wahlberg is producing and may end up starring, while the script is being cranked out by genre writer Justin Marks (HE-MAN, VOLTRON, GREEN ARROW SUPER MAX, etc.).
Wahlberg obviously hates downtime — he’s already got the dark comedy TEDDY BEAR, the thriller CONTRABAND and the (dreaded by some) videogame adaptation UNCHARTED on his impending “to do” list, in between producing half of HBO’s shows.

Here’s the synopsis: “Chris Black possesses a power that could lead to the destruction of the current regime, and they will stop at nothing to destroy him. The chase is on as Chris runs for his life in this sci-fi thriller set in an alternate and futuristic Los Angeles.”
