When asked if BAD BOYS 3 will happen on Conan last night, Martin Lawrence said he just recently talked to Jerry Bruckheimer about it, and says things are looking good for project.
I believe so. Yes. I just talked to Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday and he said its real, they’re working on the script, they’re getting close and it all looks good.

Last we knew, SAFE HOUSE scribe David Guggenheim was writing the script for BAD BOYS 3, and earlier this year Jerry Bruckheimer said bad timing was the reason why it has happened yet. Bruckheimer also sounded pretty confident about it actually happening with Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, but we haven't heard too much from Smith about another movie. I do wonder if Will Smith is interested in doing it, or if people are just assuming he'll definitely return for a third film.
And what about Michael Bay? He might have the time for it if he doesn't end up directing TRANSFORMERS 5, and while Bay probably does want to come back for another movie, he could always pass off the directing duties to someone else if he thinks he's going to be too busy. A Michael Bay-less BAD BOYS 3 might work, but I think people's interest in another movie will drop significantly if Will Smith doesn't return. What do you think is going to happen with BAD BOYS 3?
