Mary-Kate is a Beast

Way the f*ck back in February, we heard about a little CBS Films flick called BEASTLY was in the works (check out that original story HERE), but haven’t heard a whole lot about it since, except for Vanessa Hudgens joining the cast (HERE).

According to Variety, BEASTLY scored another starlet to star in the teen-romance based loosely on BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, about a chick who places a curse on a handsome egocentric young man, who’s physically transformed into everything he despises.

I know. It sounds lame. But wait–it gets lamer! Mary-Kate Olsen has just signed to star in the film as the chick who casts the curse! And no, it doesn’t appear that Ashley will be co-starring along with her.

I actually have no beef with the Olsen twins, I just think this movie sounds stupid. Sure, it’s based on the novel by Alex Fliin, but that doesn’t mean it’s good, original, or worth making. It’s still a flick aimed to hop on the teen-fantasy train that seems to be hot now, thanks to shit like TWILIGHT, which means it’s simply gonna suck ass. Plus, it’s from CBS Films.

But what the hell do I know? To be directed by Daniel Barnz, and co-starring Alex Pettyfer, filming for BEASTLY is scheduled to begin in Montreal June 13th.
