Matheson talks Legend

I thought Richard Matheson has been dead for years. I don’t know why, I just imagined that the acclaimed author died years ago, and now his works are being pimped out for the big screen because that’s what you do when a great author dies, you try to make money off his success (in Hollywood, at least).

But this morning I happened upon an interview with Matheson over at CinemaSpy, and guess what? The man isn’t dead, but alive and well! Who knew? Ok, upon some basic research, I could have known that, but whatever… I know it now!

Matheson chatted up his thoughts on the upcoming I AM LEGEND – here’s just a snippet of what he had to say: From what I hear, it has been done extremely well, with both taste and skill.

Even though that’s an extremely ‘safe’ statement to say, the man does go into his life and career as an author fairly deeply, discussing how he has come up with some of the things he has over the years, and what he attributes his creativity to. It’s a great read, especially if you’re a Matheson fan, but also if you’re into learning about authors in general.

To check out the entire interview, go ahead and click HERE, and get ready for Will Smith in I AM LEGEND, in theaters everywhere this Friday.
