McAvoy for Bond

Don’t freak yet. He’s not replacing Daniel Craig or anything.

Actually James McAvoy is attached to play Bond’s creator, Ian Fleming. Palmstar Entertainment and Animus Films are developing a biopic about the man behind 007. The story would focus on the years that gave him inspiration for Bond. The project is being based on the book, Ian Fleming: The Man Behind James Bond, by Andrew Lycett, according to Pajiba’s very reliable source.

Before his creation, Fleming stood in the shadow of his family’s name. His Father was a politician, and his siblings were well known (His Brother was a travel writer). Fleming was a likable guy, but was a bit of a disobedient playboy. His brainchild stemmed from experiences in World War II then his life was changed forever.

I think the role would be very fitting. McAvoy is a fine actor. There’s been rumblings that one day Mr. Tumnus will take over the role as the actual Bond. I really think that McAvoy showed us all how badass he could be with WANTED, but I don’t see him as a Bond. For now, Fleming will be as close as he gets.
