Good ol’ SuicideGirls got the chance to sit down with SPAWN creator himself, Todd McFarlane, to talk about comics, Spawn (what else?), his company, and more.

The interview started off with inteviewer Dan Epstein remarking on how Todd was one of the first guys to bring good looking women into comics, and his thoughts on that title the reason behind the change and the reaction (“They hadn’t updated Mary Jane since 1965 when John Romita drew her.”). With the talk of Marvel, the discussion obviously led to a yound Todd’s rocky departure from the House of Stan Lee. Or as Todd put it, that “crazy guy” (not Stan Lee, you guys!).

Todd also touched on his upcoming TV series involving the return of Spawn to the airways (“We’re knee-deep in that one.” and it’s DVD release (hint: not immediate, but eventually).

The interview ended with Todd’s thoughts on fellow comic artist Frank Miller with his recent opus with Robert Rodriguez (and Oscar snub) in SIN CITY. For the entire interview, including the topic of Todd’s alternative to Showtime’s MASTERS OF HORROR, head here.
