Godzilla vs. Kong: Mechagodzilla spotted in new trailer?

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

I don't know about you guys, but I'm fuckin' hyped for the upcoming Kaiju brawl Godzilla vs. Kong, as that most recent trailer kicked so much goddamn ass! But not only did that trailer show off a bunch of explosive action and awesome monster-on-monster fisticuffs, it also might've potentially revealed another opponent that may force Godzilla and Kong to work together to defeat…

…which is none other than the famous Godzilla foe Mechagodzilla

Admittedly, there's not a ton to go by right now, but at the bottom of the article are some – in my opinion – convincing frames from the aforementioned trailer, with the first two stills showing off what looks like a silvery Godzilla with red lights, and the third still seemingly revealing blueprints/plans for the oversized robo-weapon. Though, only time will tell if that is indeed the case – but it's always fun to speculate, nonetheless (especially when there's at least some evidence).

Anyway, here's the official synopsis:

Legends collide as these mythic adversaries meet in a spectacular battle for the ages, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond. But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe. The epic clash between the two titans—instigated by unseen forces—is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the Earth.

Meanwhile, Godzilla vs. Kong – directed by Adam Wingard (You're Next) and starring Godzilla and King Kong – will hit theaters and stream on HBO Max March 26!

So what do you guys think? Do you believe Mechagodzilla will show up in the film? Either way, sound off below!
