Melissa Barrera cast in key role for upcoming horror sequel Scream 5!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Deadline reports that actress Melissa Barrera – one of the stars of the still unreleased Lin-Manuel Miranda flick IN THE HEIGHTS – has apparently been cast in a key role for the highly-anticipated horror sequel SCREAM 5! She joins the already cast Courtney Cox and David Arquette, though Barrera is the first new castmember brought onto the film. It's also been reported that Neve Campbell has been in talks to join the film too, but no confirmation if a deal's gone through or not.

No plot details have been revealed as of yet, but it's going to be directed by READY OR NOT filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, and executive produced by SCREAM creator Kevin Williamson.

So what do you guys think? Still excited for more SCREAM? Either way, sound off below!
