Mena Suvari & Kevin Pollak join cleverly titled App horror flick Apparition

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

With a title like APPARITION, these days you just have to figure the filmmakers think they're slick and the film involves a killer phone app… and that's just what this film is! Go figure. The new flick stars Mena Suvari (AMERICAN PIE, THE MURDER OF NICOLE BROWN SIMPSON, Blumhouse & Eli Roth's SOUTH OF HELL), Kevin Pollak (see above, END OF DAYS, THE USUAL SUSPECTS) and newcomer Annalisa Cochrane (COBRA KAI).

Written by Waymon Boone, Mark S. Allen, Howard Burd, and Rob Rose it follows:

A group of young people who are guided by an APP that connects living with the dead. They find themselves at an abandoned castle, a place with a horrific history tied to each of them, for reasons they'll soon discover.

Anyhow, all clever titles, and whatnot out of the way, today we have word that Voltage Pictures has just announced that they will launch worldwide sales on director Waymon Boone’s new horror feature at the American Film Market. Great. Good times. But it gets better, evidently, Voltage Pictures' Executive Vice President of International Sales, Alexandra Cocean, is going around pimping the movie using that f*cking phrase we all know and love SO much: "Elevated Horror." Yuck.

Alexandra Cocean:

Elevated horrors like Apparition are yielding huge returns at the box-office, so we’re thrilled to bring this project to our buyers as part of our robust and diverse AFM slate. Waymon Boone masterfully leads the fiercely talented Mena Suvari and Kevin Pollak through this terrifying and hugely satisfying horror gem.

Howard Burd (MOTHER'S DAY) and Mark S. Allen (BALLBUSTER) produced the film, which is currently in post-production. Being that filming has wrapped on this new ghost flick maybe that means we will see some footage or a poster soon. We'll keep an eye out and let you know as soon as anything hits. Until then, let us know what you think of the movie thus far below!

Was Blumhouse & Eli Roth's SOUTH OF HELL any good?
