Michael Dougherty’s Christmas horror movie Krampus gifted with a poster

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Director Michael Dougherty's feature debut TRICK 'R TREAT has become annual Halloween season viewing for many horror fans, and he's been developing a sequel to it for a while now. But before he returns to the world of that holiday horror anthology, he's going to ruin a different holiday for a bunch of characters with his new film KRAMPUS.

Written by Dougherty, Zach Shields, and Todd Casey, the story of KRAMPUS goes like this:

When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers.

All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family’s home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive.

Emjay Anthony, Adam Scott, Toni Collette, David Koechner, Conchata Ferrell, Stefania Lavie Owen, and Krista Stadler star.

KRAMPUS is set to be released into theatres on December 4th, 2015, allowing audiences to spend the month of Christmas with the "darkly festive tale of a yuletide ghoul". Sounds like this is just what my holiday season has been missing.

In anticipation of the film's release, production company Legendary Pictures unveiled a very cool poster as part of their San Diego Comic-Con presentation, a panel which also included a trailer which will hopefully be making its way online soon.
