Although it’s opening later than originally planned, this move puts Michael Dougherty’s KRAMPUS closer to Christmas as Universal Pictures has opted to release the film on Friday, December 4, 2015 rather than November 25, 2015. Can’t really complain about that. It’ll be nice to have something of the horror variety to look forward to come the holiday season next year, that’s for sure.

As far as KRAMPUS goes, Dougherty recently said, “I’ve been drawing twisted Christmas cards for well over a decade, so it only made sense to bring some of that morbid yuletide fun to the big screen, and Krampus was the perfect mythology to do that. Christmas has been invading Halloween for far too long. It’s time to return the favor." Music to my ears! Really, though, the lack of horror around the Christmas season has always surprised me. Snow looks so much better when it's covered in blood.
