Second attempt at an EXPENDABLES reaction? It may not be so but that’s the vibe I’m getting after watching this trailer once…or even twice. There’s a powerhouse (ensemble) of a cast that’s slated to star in a remake of 13 TZAMETI and with each passing name it’s getting closer to my what-the-f*ck moment of the day.

Mickey Rourke, Ray Winstone, Jason Statham, Sam Riley, 50 Cent, Ray Liotta, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Michael Shannon, Ben Gazzara and Alex Skarsgard all star in the film and if that’s not enough to turn your gears then get a load of this! Director Gela Babluan, who directed the original 13 TZAMETI has returned to reclaim his title as master of…13 TZAMETI. In all serious though, the guy’s remaking his own movie. While it’s not like it hasn’t been done before it is kind of odd.

Overture/Relativity will help distribute the project. What a strange situation but regardless of the fact that cast will be breaking balls left and right. Treat yourself with a synopsis below and then a featured trailer afterward. No release date has been announced yet folks but if you stick with us then we’ll send you the deets when it comes.

In the vein of such dark thriller classics such as Battle Royale, 13 tells the story of a young construction worker whose family is having hard times who overhears a conversation through a hole in a rooftop and undergoes an impulsive journey that he hopes will lead to a fortune. However, to his horror, he finds himself in a high-stakes contest-to-the-death, with little hope of victory or escape.
