Oscar-nominated writer/director Mike Figgis (LEAVING LAS VEGAS) is currently preparing an “erotic psychological thriller” called SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF. Ahh, we definitely have been lacking in that juicy subgenre for some time now; will be good to have it back!

According to Screen Daily, flick has this set-up: Blurring lines between fiction and reality, the story is about a screenwriter/literature professor who becomes implicated in the murder of a mysterious young French woman.

Content Film, which just the other day picked up LOVELY MOLLY, has acquired the worldwide rights to the thriller and will be shopping it – of course – at the American Film Market. No cast has been announced just yet.

Content Film’s Jamie Carmichael said this about the project:
“I had the great pleasure of working with Mike on Leaving Las Vegas and we responded so strongly to the script of Suspension of Disbelief that we just had to be involved. Mike has an extraordinary eye for material and is one of the UK’s great directing talents. We feel this project has something very special indeed.”
