Dread Central exclusively reported today of writer/director Byron Miller’s new vampire action flick NIGHT, about a detective who is thrust into the vampire underground to save his recently human-turned-bloodsucker partner. Miller himself explains it as “a fast-paced, dark, action/horror hybrid that doesn’t skip on the blood.” The film has just finished post production and is currently looking for a distributor to bring it to the big screen (or at least to DVD).
NIGHT sounds awesome, but we’ve all seen the follies that come out of vampires crossing with other genres (VAMPIRE IN BROOKLYN… what a waste…). It kind of sounds like the Joe Pispoco/ Treat Williams buddy-cop/zombie movie DEAD HEAT (You can’t keep a good cop dead!), where Treat tries to catch the person who murdered him…. Check it out if you haven’t seen it, the raid on the Chinese Restaurant will go down in zombie history! This 80’s classic also stars Vincent Price in one of his last roles. NIGHT will be released as soon as it finds a distributor…
