Monster Hunter trailer is packed with Milla Jovovich vs. creature action

A couple short teasers for director Paul W.S. Anderson's latest video game adaptation MONSTER HUNTER arrived online earlier this month, and now the full trailer has been released. It can be seen above, and includes some of the footage from the teasers as well as whole lot more giant monster action.

Milla Jovovich, T.I. Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta, Tony Jaa, and Ron Perlman star in the film, which has the following synopsis:

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity.

When an unexpected sandstorm transports Lt. Artemis (Jovovich) and her unit (Harris, Good, Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.

I'm not familiar with the games this is based on, but the monster stuff in the trailer makes it look like the movie could be fun.

Fans of the game may be glad to hear that Anderson has confirmed it will feature creatures called Palicoes, including a feline one called Meowscular Chef that will have a "flirtatious" interaction with Jovovich's character.

MONSTER HUNTER is scheduled to reach theatres on December 30, 2020.
