Earlier this year we reported on this small horror flick that made some waves at Slamdance and was soon picked up by Anchor Bay. That flick is JACK BROOKS: MONSTER SLAYER.
Maybe you haven’t heard of it yet? Well you need to change that right now. JACK BROOKS looks like an awesome time! It’s got a hero we can root for and laugh with/at, some pretty cheesy yet villainous looking monsters, and Robert Englund! Not to mention hottie Rachel Skarsten (below). It’s even got one awesome poster which we last showed you back in February.
Well JACK BROOKS: MONSTER SLAYER recently got it’s official site revamped and updated! It’s got loads of info, stills, and even a few extras like a journal from the plumber-turned-badass himself Jack Brooks! You can click the logo above to head to the site or just click right over here.
The synopsis for JACK BROOKS: MONSTER SLAYER reads: After witnessing the brutal murder of his family, Jack Brooks (Trevor Matthews) is left with an unquenchable fury he is constantly fighting to control.
Now working as a local plumber and struggling in a relationship with his girlfriend Eve (Rachel Skarsten), Jack’s life has become a downward spiral. One night, Jack attempts to fix Professor Crowley’s (Robert Englund) old, rusted pipes, but unknowingly awakens an ancient evil. Lured by this demonic power, Crowley discovers a monstrous black heart that quickly forces its way inside him. Possessed by the heart now beating in his chest, the Professor starts a slow, gruesome transformation. Only then does Jack realize that he can’t run from his past, and quickly discovers the true purpose of his inner rage.
The flick comes from director Jon Knautz with a script from John Ainslie. It stars Englund, Skarsten, and Trevor Matthews as Jack Brooks. Hopefully we’ll get word soon on a release date. Until then, don’t forget to visit the flick’s official website.
