The Netflix streaming service is aiming to bring us a lot of information about serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the near future. Not only will they be releasing the documentary Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes on October 7th, they have also teamed up with American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy for a series called Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story – or, judging by the title on display in the newly released trailer that you can watch in the embed above, the title is actually Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. This show is coming to Netflix even sooner than the documentary; it will be available to watch as of September 21st.

Evan Peters, who had roles in several seasons of American Horror Story, plays Dahmer in Monster. The ten episode limited series will tell us about

real-life serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, who murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Primarily told from the perspective of Dahmer’s victims, the series will reportedly take place from the 1960s to early 1990s. Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story will also explore the incompetence of the Wisconsin police during the murder investigations, allowing Dahmer to continue his killing spree.

Peters is joined in the cast by Molly Ringwald, Niecy Nash, Michael Beach, Michael Learned, Penelope Ann Miller, Shaun J. Brown, Colin Ford, and Richard Jenkins.

Murphy created Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story with Ian Brennan. They also wrote the first four episodes together. Other writers credited on the show include Janet Mock, David McMillan, Reilly Smith, and Todd Kubrak. Mock is a director on the show, as are Paris Barclay and Carl Franklin.

The trailer for Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is quite creepy and reminds me that myself and my elementary school classmates were terrified when we heard news reports about Dahmer back in the early ’90s. He was like the boogeyman to some of us for quite a while after that.

What did you think of the trailer? Will you be watching Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story on Netflix? Share your thoughts on this one by leaving a comment below.
