Shot on a shoestring budget, THE HILLS HAVE EYES is another example (for its time) of the kickass horror movies that came out during the 70’s. So it makes sense to Hollywood to remake it (now where’s that sarcasm tag?).
Arrow sent this unofficial fan site my way, which has snagged some behind-the-scenes stills from the remake’s production. From the looks of things, it’s almost shot-for-shot the same as the original, save for the bird biting and Michael Berryman (damn!). Click the pic below to get to the site, which has stuff on the original film as well as the remake.
Based on the original film of the same name, a family going to California accidentally goes through an Air Testing range closed to the public. They crash and are stranded in a desert, where they are being stalked by a group of cannibals interested in having them for lunch. Directed by Alexandre Aja (who did the awesome HAUTE TENSION), the film stars Desmond Askew, Kathleen Quinlan, Emilie de Ravin and Laura Ortiz and is set for release March 10th of next year.
