John De Bello’s campy 1978 horror flick ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES is something… unique. Being an avid enemy of tomatoes, this flick is one I can relate too. If your a fan of the flick, or find it to be true horror like I do, then your in for a treat! (of the tomato kind)

The Hollywood Reporter dropped the news that ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES is the next horror flick set aside to be remade. Sure, the amount of films being remade are getting ridiculous, but this is one remake I don’t mind. Sure, pathetic effects sometimes make a campy horror flick all sorts of fun, but KILLER TOMATOES with today’s technology is welcomed by me.

And get this one: The two dudes behind the internet web series ASK A NINJA will be writing this remake! I’ve seen a couple ASK A NINJAs and I’m definately a fan. Then again I’m a fan of anything involving a ninja. The duo are Kent Nichols and Douglas Sarine. Nichols will also be directing the movie. He had the following to say regarding the film: ” ‘Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!’ is the masterwork of a generation. We can only aspire to recapture that magic.” Sounds good.

The original film was about a group of scientists that band together to save the world from mutated tomatoes that KILL! How does that not sell you? The idea of watching those damned tomatoes get squashed and butchered on the big screen today just has me tickled pink!

M. Dal Walton III will be producing after scoring the rights from Killer Tomato Entertainement. We’ll definately be keeping you updated. In the meantime enjoy the completely random hotties below, let’s hope they’re not on the tomatoes’ side.
