With THE LOST BOYS 2: THE TRIBE just starting production, casting and other news seems to be coming out of the woodwork. MovieHole just got word that hottie Moneca Delain (from the upcoming TRICK ‘R TREAT) just joined the TRIBE party, and we’re all happy for it… damn, she’s fine!
We were also given the ‘official’ press release for THE TRIBE, featuring the storyline/synopsis… looks like it’s business as usual for the second time around!
This sequel takes us to the shady surf city of Luna Bay, California, where vampires quickly dispatch anyone who crosses their path. Into this dark world arrive Chris Emerson (Hilgenbrink) and his younger sister, Nicole (Reeser). Having just lost their parents in a car accident, the siblings move in with their eccentric Aunt Jillian and become new prey for the locals’ way of life. When Nicole unwittingly falls for a local vampire, Chris must locate and destroy the gang’s lifeline before his sister’s transformation is complete; to do this Chris finds himself relying on the expertise of none other than Edgar Frog (Feldman). Subtle references to characters from the original film, and cameos from returning actors offer homage to the Lost Boys legend and set a sinister tone of impending doom.
It has that ‘been there, done that’ vibe going for it, but maybe it’ll work… or maybe it’ll feel more like a remake of the original than an actual sequel. Starring Tad Hilgenbrink, Autumn Reeser, Angus Sutherland, Jamison Newlander, and Corey Feldman, THE TRIBE is aiming for a direct to DVD release through Warner Premiere sometime next year.
In other TRIBE news, it looks like the drama last week with Corey Haim eventually not starring in THE TRIBE continues on in a video interview over at MTV. Apparently the guy is holding a grudge against Feldman regarding the LOST BOYS sequel, as well as the notorious breakdown Haim threw when he originally found out he wasn’t in it. If you thought he was off his rocker before, you really need to CHECK THIS OUT! It’s a frickin’ riot!!!
