More Machine v Man

This thing I’m typing on right now. These things so many of us rely on. Imagine if one day… they were sick of getting typed on and decided to do the typing. That’s right, I’m talking about the ongoing and futuristic battle of man versus machine. There’s no topping the classic man versus machine flick THE TERMINATOR, but I’m here to tell you about a new one anyway!

This new flick is called DAEMON, and according to The Hollywood Reporter will be coming from Paramount and Parkes/MacDonald. Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are producing the project based off the novel by Daniel Suarez. What is DAEMON?

Well no, it’s not a demon. Close though. DAEMON is described as a techo-thriller that centers on an iconic game designer who, before he died, set up a program to fight mankind, with the story then exploring the ensuing man-vs.-machine battle. A daemon is a computer program that runs without the direct control of a human.

Now here’s hoping DAEMON goes more along the lines of TERMINATOR than EAGLE EYE, both being about man versus machine in two very different ways. We’ll be keeping an eye out for anything more on DAEMON and if we find it’s right down our alley, we’ll update you all.

Note: I have no idea what the picture above has to do with the story. I typed in ‘Killer Computer’ and that came up. Works for me.
