Universal has new pictures from the upcoming Michael Keaton horror flick WHITE NOISE, which should be hitting theaters January 7th. I’ve seen the trailer a few times, as it’s been placed before THE GRUDGE, SAW and SEED OF CHUCKY, and all I can say is that it looks f*ckin’ creepy! It’s as though we got some of THE SIXTH SENSE in our VCR’s and radios, and are able hear dead people speaking to us. Some nice, some not… If you haven’t heard much about it, here’s the synopsis:
Michael Keaton plays a successful architect Jonathan Rivers, whose peaceful existence is shattered by the unexplained disappearance and death of his wife, Anna (Chandra West). Jonathan is eventually contacted by a man (Ian McNeice), who claims to be receiving messages from Anna through E.V.P. (Electronic Voice Phenomena) At first skeptical, Jonathan then becomes convinced of the messages’ validity, and is soon obsessed with trying to contact her on his own. His further explorations into E.V.P. and the accompanying supernatural messages unwittingly open a door to another world, allowing something uninvited into his life.
I’ve always liked Keaton, ever since BEETLEJUICE he’s been outstanding, and this one looks like it’s going to scare the pants off of us. The trailer is fantastic! If you haven’t seen it, check it out HERE, along with more stills from the film.
What makes it even scarier is there’s actually a website that investigates real life E.V.P. action- so in that respects, the phenomenon in the film is based on truth. And if a screaming ghost on some radio frequency told me to get out of their house… first, I’d crap my pants, then I’d get out of their house! WHITE NOISE opens everywhere January 7th.
