While covering the press junket for Lakeshore Entertainment’s UNTRACEABLE, Collider had a chance to talk with Tom Rosenberg (head of Lakeshore) about a few upcoming projects, which included the action flicks CRANK 2 and GAME, as well as the prequel to UNDERWORLD.
Here’s what Rosenberg had to say about UNDERWORLD 3: RISE OF THE LYCANS: …remember in the first one Michael Sheen’s wife Sonia was killed by Bill Nye—by Victor and that was his daughter. That was the back-story for Michael Sheen. Obviously this is how they meet and Michael Sheen becomes the leader of the werewolves. This is told from the werewolf’s perspective, not the vampire’s. It’s their story and their battle with Victor.
If you ask me, it’s about flippin’ time we get to see this dispute from the werewolves perspective! Who knows, maybe the vampires were really a bunch of a-holes, and the werewolves were the ones in the right all along. Could be interesting… or could confuse the shite outta people going to see an UNDERWORLD movie that doesn’t feature Kate Beckinsale or that many vampires. Should be interesting either way, though!
