Just yesterday Eric told you about The Asylum’s PARANORMAL ENTITY, which is of course a complete ripoff of Oren Peli’s PARANORMAL ACTIVITY. Well folks the fun just doesn’t stop!
In January 2010 Simius Films will be hitting us with PARANORMAL EFFECT! Oh yeah… another ‘Paranormal’ movie. Got to love it! Now not much is known about PARANORMAL EFFECT but what we do know is it’s about an actual Japanese curse and comes from producers Ryuichi Asano and Teruo Ito. Here’s the actual synopsis: Visiting her native Japan with her American boyfriend Darren, Reiko is disappointed to see him spend most of his time filming local stereotypes. Already upset, Reiko draws the line when Darren walks into a forbidden cave, which, according to local beliefs, enshrines shinto gods since the dawn of time. From then, Reiko and Darren start witnessing strange things happening around them, some of which they manage to catch on camera. Will they have time to understand what is upon them before it is too late?
Well alright. At least PARANORMAL EFFECT seems to have a lot more going on plot wise than these other ripoffs. Intrigued? Be sure to check out EFFECT’s official website then scope out the trailer directly below. As I mentioned, PARANORMAL EFFECT is set to hit DVD and Video-on-Demand January 2010!
