PUNISHER: WAR ZONE is shaping up to be a flick that I’m actually looking forward to. Yes, I’m bummed as hell that Thomas Jane didn’t return as gun totting vigilante this time around, and yeah, I thought the last PUNISHER (the movie as a whole) sucked ass. But damnit, I have hope that this, yes this PUNISHER will be the PUNISHER to end all PUNISHERs!

Director Lexi Alexander announced (via her blog) of a few new cast members today. Looks like Dash Mihok, Colin Salmon, and Doug Hutchison have all joined the cast, as characters Detective Martin Soap, Agent Paul Budiansky, and Loony Bin Jim, respectively.

None of these names jump out at me in any particular fashion, but if you head HERE, you can see their mugs side-by-side with the comic book characters they will be playing. From the looks of it, they’ve cast this baby right on thus far!

Alexander also gave us a bone to chew on, as she announced Jigsaw (no, not Tobin Bell) will be WAR ZONE’s top villain! He’s been cast… but alas, she isn’t naming any names as of yet. Damn her! Last week, he got wind that Paddy Considine was offered a role in the film… and according to Wikipedia, that role was for Jigsaw… but… the studio had pulled their offer due to the fact that their original choice agreed to the role. So basically, we’re back to square one.

Still, this tidbit of info has me intrigued. Who will be going against Ray Stevenson with some serious gun to gun combat? I’m sure the announcement is just days away… stay tuned!
