More Riddick talk

Vin Diesel has seemed to hit a standstill so the man has decided to go back to the franchises that got him to the big show. Of course we’ve got the FURIOUS car movie thing on the way and now talk of a third RIDDICK film is really picking up. Just the other day Ammon told you all about some interesting updates coming from Diesel’s own mouth… and today we’ve got more coming from the man himself!

This news comes from Filmstalker. Apparently Diesel wasn’t happy with just dropping word that a third RIDDICK script is being worked on by writer/director David Twohy, he’s also added a detailed description of the opening scene! Here’s what he said:

“We’re going to find Riddick alone for the first part of the movie, barely alive, surrounded by carnivorous monsters who are trying to eat him…So you’ll see a futuristic Rambo-esque Riddick trying to survive.”

Riddick going Rambo? Works for me! I’ve always thought Riddick was one of the best movie characters out there and I dug the shit out of PITCH BLACK. CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK not so much… but that’s where this next piece of what Diesel had to say comes into use:

“David Twohy is scripting the next installment of Riddick as we speak, and it’s underway. The story will return to a Pitch Black [sensibility] while servicing the mythology that’s been enhanced in Chronicles of Riddick.”

Awesome. I’m definitely down for another adventure with Riddick. Hell that badass can go frolicking in a field of sundaises and I’d follow. Hopefully this isn’t just Diesel blowing things out of proportion. We’ll keep an eye on this and update you all on any other RIDDICK 3 news.

PITCH BLACK star Radha Mitchell.
